My choice project is a large bowl about 7 inches wide and 6 inches tall. It has a very even thickness and shape, a perfect circle. I opted to not foot this bowl because it had a very thin base and I didn't want to risk cutting through it. The waves are subtle to an otherwise basic bowl, but matches most of my other projects in cobalt blue. It contributes to my theme throughout the semester very nicely.
My teapot is about 7 inches from spout to handle and 5 inches tall. I glazed is turquoise matte, which is unique when compared to the other projects I have made this semester. The foot ring is clear and defined and the handle is well made. The large knob on the lid gives it character, though the unglazed rim takes away from the overall look. I regret not attaching the spout with more clay but again, the shape and texture give it character.
My lidded project is a jar, about 7 inches tall and 4 inches wide. It is well made, with a well defined foot ring. The body shrank in the kiln more than the lid did so it falls off almost constantly which is a big disappointment. It has a blue stain which is consistent with my other projects, elaborating on my color scheme which can later add to my theme. I particularly like the swirls on this one, though I wish it hadn't melted so much.
